About the office

MuHe Design Studio is an independent practice based in Helsinki, founded by Mu, an industrial designer working across product, object, and spatial interfaces.

An Aalto University graduate, Mu has lived and worked across Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Amsterdam, developing a cross-cultural perspective that informs his approach to design. Positioned between Nordic modernism and East Asian sensibilities, his work reflects a consistent pursuit of clarity, restraint, and precision.

Before establishing the studio, Mu contributed to a range of international design projects in collaboration with companies such as Vitra, Normann Copenhagen, Umbra, USM, Delta Light, and Hafi, spanning furniture, lighting, and architectural products. His work has been recognized with international awards including the Red Dot Design Award, German Design Award, and Good Design Award.

Mu approaches industrial design with an architectural mindset, where proportion, structure, and material logic are treated as a coherent system rather than isolated decisions. Instead of pursuing visual novelty, the studio emphasizes durability, manufacturing integrity, and a quiet but distinctive design language.

Today, the studio engages in projects across consumer products, hardware, and emerging categories, working between Europe and Asia. With a growing focus on authorship and long-term value, the Studio seeks to create objects that are not only functional, but enduring, both physically and culturally.
